Ruckraft - Above Below - Swim Walk Adventures
Swim the distance you want, walk some, and swim some more.
The Ruckrafts by Above Below (a UK company) provide such amazing flexibility on being able to swim pulling your kit behind you on the Ruckraft, then walk carrying your kit with the ruckraft attached, and then swim again (if wanted).
Your kit stays dry when you swim, and they pull along with ease, I’m always overwhelmed with how easy they are to tow behind while swimming, (I’ve even towed two and it wasn’t too difficult), and so are my clients. They are light weight, so don’t add lots of weight to your rucksack when walking.
Ruckrafts provide the opportunity to extend experiences to include more swims of your own comfort in distance, or swimming one way across a body of water and walking back.

Why not just use a tow float?
Tow floats are great, really the are. Some change from a rucksack with storage inside to a tow float giving you options to put your belongings in and take everything with you….. BUT…. they have very limited capacity and they aren’t comfortable to carry much weight.
When I want to combine some walking and swimming, a Ruckraft is my go to choice, and this is why.
Firstly I can wear my walking boots to walk in, and carry them easily in the large Ruckraft bag;
I can do a longer A-B swim, but (depending on route choice and access) can get out at whatever point feels right;
I can carry a picnic, snacks, hot and cold drinks, whatever I need for my entire day;
I can carry lots of spare layers and fit them, and my rucksack and boots, into the large Ruckraft dry bag with ease. I’ve actually managed to get two adults kit in one Ruckraft before. They are pretty adaptable and roomy;
I can do multi swim routes, with a walk, swim, walk swim, opening opportunities for more exploring and adventures, increasing my swimming distance with having the walk (plus snacks and drinks stops) in between.
